Aeration and Overseeding: How we do it

Aeration and overseeding lay the groundwork for maximizing the health and beauty of your lawn in the upcoming growing season. At Private Landscape we take the time to provide you the most thorough, careful job you can get. Here's what we do:

The Fescue turf is core aerated three or four times, pulling as many plugs as possible. This work will help provide more oxygen and sunlight to the root systems of the turf in order to stimulate more root growth during the summer season.

A rich topsoil blend with Nature’s Helper (a water retainer) and chicken manure is added to the bare dirt areas to prepare the soil for the overseeding process.

Rebel Supreme Fescue seed is spread throughout the turf area. We use Rebel Supreme seed because it contains the least amount of weed seed. Also, this drought resistant seed contains a blend of seed that thrives in both sun and shade-filled environments.

Starter Fertilizer is applied to the turf areas to stimulate more turf growth during the warm season and promote quick seed germination.

A thin layer of wheat straw will be applied to any of the bare dirt areas to prevent the seed from washing away.
